Kanama High Performance is pleased to introduce their introductory Olympic weightlifting program with Coach Hani Kanama

This month to month program is designed to teach you the basics of weightlifting.  At the conclusion of the program a foundation will be in place, which will enable participants to execute the Snatch and Clean and Jerk with proper technique, along with the following assistance or accessory exercises:

  • Front and Back Squat
  • Clean Pull
  • Snatch Pull
  • Front and Back Press
  • Split Squats
  • Back Hyperextensions


This makes it ideal for those who are not only interested in building their foundation in the classic lifts of Snatch and Clean and Jerk, but also those who want to have a strong technical base in all of the core movements of weightlifting. 

Kanama High Performance has been successfully coaching professional and semi- professional athletes using variations of this program at the onset of training.  If you’re interested about learning Olympic weightlifting, whether you are looking to gain muscle, get stronger, lose fat, or for general knowledge, this course is for you.

Using a combination of four key elements which will maximize the effectiveness of your training, the classes will cover mobilization, strengthening skills focusing on the lower body, core and shoulders, cardiovascular capacity work using methods that give minimal stress on joints and skill work on the Olympic Lifts of Snatch and Clean and Jerk.

Led by one of Canada’s top Olympic Weightlifting coaches, you can be assured that all instructors are amongst the best in the city and exercises will be taught with adherence to the best technique and form. This program will allow athletes of all levels to improve their general fitness as well as develop the base skills required to continue training for weightlifting. 

Class Times and Program Duration

Beginning . 

Training takes place 3 times a week and last approximately 75 minutes

Tuesday: 6:00pm - 7:30pm 

Thursday:  6:00pm - 7:30pm 

Saturday: 12:30pm - 2:00pm. 

Assessments will be done for all participants at the start of the program to determine overall fitness level so that a baseline is established on which to improve upon.



First month - $ 299.00
Second month - $250
All subsequent months - $200
